CHARLOTTE, NC: Central Piedmont Community College (hereinafter referred to as CPCC) is seeking an organization to provide media buying services in all types of media. This organization is sought to plan and track all media purchases for CPCC. These services are required to support the college’s many advertising opportunities.
Media buyer is responsible for purchasing media space or time, as well as researching how it will be most effective for the client. Their mission is to find a combination of media that will enable the marketer to communicate the message in the most effective manner possible at the minimum cost. The media buyer will determine the best media plan for CPCC, based on maximum media effectiveness for CPCC. We require them to deal with media sales representatives and determine where to place ads based on the CPCC’s objectives and budgets.
CPCC may require, but is not limited to traditional media including, radio, TV, magazines, newspapers, and out of home. Other media may include Satellite TV, Cable TV, Satellite radio, and internet, and online media may include, emails, search engines and referral links, web portals, web banners, video clips, and social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, Google and Yahoo.
CPCC will require the media buyer to recommend what and/or which combination of media is most appropriate and effective to achieve marketing goals, whether it is to make a sale, and/or to deliver a message or idea.
The Media Buyer must possess negotiating skills, be familiar with the Mecklenburg County media outlets, work well under pressure, and have superior money management/budget skills, and have experience in higher education media recommendations.
