LONDON, UK: Aegis agency Vizeum has been put on alert as BMW has put its Australian media planning and buying account up for tender.

The German car maker has kicked off a closed pitching process with a small number of invited agencies, including Vizeum, in a pitch handled from the UK by Audit Star.

General manager of sales and marketing, Tom Noble said the company will be running a closed pitch with the process to be finalised by early 2013.

He added: “We review our agency relationships periodically and this is standard operating procedure.”

Vizeum has held the account since the last review in 2007.

In the 12 months to May this year BMW spent $22.6m on main meida, according to Nielsen, up from $22.4m the previous year.
