BEAVERTON, OR: Nike is reviewing PR agencies to find a partner for its Jordan Brand, confirmed a representative of the brand.
“We’re meeting with potential agency partners,” said the representative. The source added that the brand is going through some changes in terms of PR, but would not comment further on the matter.
The review process should be finished in two to three weeks, according to the source.
Nike’s Jordan Brand works with sports marketing firm Position Sports on event planning and execution, said a Position Sports representative.
In 2006, Nike held a non-traditional agency review for project work and chose both Edelman and GCI Group for the tasks.
Earlier this year, Nike jumped on the Jeremy Lin marketing craze by selling themed shoes of the Knicks basketball player for $130 a pair.
The Jordan Brand was created in 1997 in honor of legendary NBA athlete Michael Jordan and the collection includes sneakers and apparel. Other names in the Nike brand portfolio include Cole Haan, Converse, Hurley International, Nike Golf, and Umbro.
