GURGAON, India: Numero Uno Clothing is scouting for a creative agency to give it a big push in the apparel and denim market. Ad agencies like Mudra, Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi have already made their presentations. The size of the business is said to be about $5 million. The creative duties will be awarded for a period of two years after which, depending on the work, the contract will be renewed. This is the first time that the home-based denim company has called for a large-scale pitch. Earlier, the creative duty was handled by a small creative shop, based in Delhi. The denim brand targets consumers (men and women) in the age group of 18 to 35 years, and is positioned as a youthful, trendy and fashionable denim or casual wear brand.

The company was incorporated in 1987 as Hi Fashion Clothing. It changed its name to Numero Uno Clothing in April 2007. Today, it has the privilege of being one of the few power brands that fuses international trends, innovative fabrics, washes, treatments and accessible pricing. The brand has four state-of- the-art units, at Gurgaon (Haryana), Okhla (Delhi), Selaqui (Uttranchal) and Manesar (Haryana), with 500 machines and more than 1000 workers. The Gurgaon unit has one of the best in-house laundries in the country with a capacity of 2,00,000 pieces a month.
