Bourbon distillery to launch their own brand
Steve’s breakdown: The most important line of this article is: Bardstown Bourbon . . . noted that it intends to have its own Bourbon, whiskey and rye brands ready for market before the end of 2017. Time to belly up to that client!
BARDSTOWN, KY: Bardstown Bourbon Co is set to follow through on plans to double the capacity at its distillery once again, this time to 6m proof gallons per year.
The privately-owned company, which was founded three years ago, announced its intentions yesterday. Through its so-called “Collaborative Distilling Program”, the group produces Kentucky whiskey, Bourbon and rye spirits at the Bardstown facility for “craft distillers, non-distilling brand owners, and existing brand owners”.
Having started with an annual capacity of 1.5m proof gallons a year ago, Bardstown Bourbon raised its maximum production to 3m proof gallons earlier this year. “The footprint can ultimately be expanded to more than 6m proof gallons within the current design, by adding additional equipment,” the company said in July.
Master distiller Steve Nally said yesterday: “We’ve exceeded all expectations. Our custom production programme has attracted some of the best brands from across the country and the world, and we are proud to be producing… Bourbon for them.”
Work will begin on a third barrel warehouse next month, with a second 36-inch, Vendome Copper & Brass Works still, another 12,000-gallon cooker, and up to 16 additional fermenters also going in on the existing site.
Bardstown Bourbon also noted yesterday that it intends to have its own Bourbon, whiskey and rye brands ready for market before the end of 2017.
