DENVER, CO: Melody Health Insurance, the startup health insurer purpose-built for the modern healthcare consumer, today announced it added three executive team members to execute operations, marketing and regulatory oversight. The company will launch this fall in Las Vegas, Nevada and Cheyenne, Wyoming and will expand into two additional markets each year after.
Health insurance veteran Tom Zumtobel joins the team as President of Western Markets. With more than 20 years’ experience in managed care leadership, Zumtobel is responsible for launching and running the company’s local market operations. His past positions include President of the Culinary Health Fund, CEO of Nevada Health co-op, and CEO of Meritus Health Plans. Zumtobel is based out of Reno, Nevada.
Bill Bakken serves as Melody’s Executive Vice President, Services and Operations. Bakken has 20 years of leadership experience in innovative, high growth, healthcare IT companies and brings critical health insurance back office operations expertise to the team. In addition to launching several health startups, Bakken served as Senior VP, Services at TriZetto, where he managed IT for 30 million members and built the largest outsourced IT Managed Services organization in the US for the health insurance industry.
Tracy Faigin brings a unique combination of consumer marketing and health insurance experience to the Chief Marketing Officer role at Melody. She oversees the sales and marketing function with a direct-to-consumer focus. Faigin developed expertise in consumer research, buying behavior, advertising, digital marketing and sales through her two decades of marketing agency and in-house work with a variety of consumer industries. Most recently, Faigin served as CMO for the Colorado Health co-op, which grew to 80,000 members in two years.
