COLUMBUS, GA: Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC), a leading entertainment, digital cinema, alternative content and 3-D motion picture presenter, announced today that Rob Collins has been named to the newly created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. The appointment is effective immediately and reflects Carmike’s expanding scale, business development initiatives and strategy to align its marketing, branding and customer relationship management efforts across its theatre operations. Mr. Collins will report to David Passman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carmike Cinemas.

In his role, Mr. Collins will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the Company’s marketing strategies to optimize revenue opportunities, including brand advertising, customer experience, loyalty programs, content initiatives, social / digital / mobile media, communications, public relations and promotional activities. He will also lead Carmike’s corporate marketing, communications and customer service teams while providing strategic direction and support to the company’s regional and theatre-level managers.

Commenting on the appointment, David Passman stated, “Rob brings impressive industry background, outstanding leadership and comprehensive marketing expertise to his new role at Carmike Cinemas. He has a proven record of developing and executing successful integrated branding and marketing campaigns on behalf of leading media and entertainment companies. Prior to joining Carmike, Mr. Collins served as Vice President of Brand Activation for Turner Entertainment Networks, where he was responsible for leading all experimental marketing and network branding across the organization’s $4 billion entertainment division. Mr. Collins founded Focus Point Advertising, a boutique ad agency focused on tourism and entertainment industries with clients including Paramount Parks and Herschend Family Entertainment, a leading operator of hotels, theme parks, water parks and aquariums where he then went on to serve as Corporate Vice President of Marketing.

Mr. Collins has an extensive track record in the entertainment industry having held senior positions at Paramount Parks, Universal Studios Orlando Resort, and Nickelodeon.
