Iconic URL gets donated: New content & marketing is next

LOS ANGELES, CA: Live video chat company VS Media have donated the Gay.com domain name to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

It means that the organisation can now direct traffic from the URL towards resources that help LGBT+ youth in the local community, as well as worldwide.

Gay.com was valued at $6.9 million by its previous owner, so it was a very generous donation to say the least.

“We never could have imagined that one day ownership of such a valuable and iconic domain would be transferred to us,” said the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Chief Marketing Officer Jim Key.

“We’ve only just begun to think about the tremendous possibilities for the domain. There are so many great, important, and untold stories related to the Center’s local and global work.”

However, Gay.com is still in the process of being migrated over to its new owner and still currently displays some NSFW content.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center was founded in 1969 and has been a vital resource for LGBT+ youth for decades.
