BOSTON, MA: The VP of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy and its related managerial protocols for the College. Through this strategy, and its implementation, which encompasses both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) marketing channels, the College promotes its degree and certificate programs and professional training programs to recruit, enroll and retain students. Further, the role develops and coordinates media coverage, brand awareness and lead generation campaigns, and promotional materials. In response to constant changes in the higher education industry, this role is responsible for continually evaluating the timely adjustment of marketing strategies and plans and recommending changes in marketing philosophy when necessary to serve the best interests of the College.
Works with the College’s academic administration to insure relevancy and applicability of programs to target student populations. Reports directly to the College President and serves on the College’s Executive Committee which provides overall leadership to the College. Reports To: NECB President Duties and Responsibilities: Define B2C and B2B marketing strategies and tactics to support the College’s strategic objectives. Develop feasible B2C and B2B marketing tactical plans for the College and oversee their day-to-day implementation. Plan and organize marketing functions and operations and ensure they project the College’s unique “voice.” Collaborate with other internal departments (admissions, academics, student services) to gather cross-college input and feedback on advertising campaigns and promotional materials. Design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR and other marketing efforts across channels (digital, press etc.).
Responsible for the lead and marketing spend performance for the College. Conducts, or assists in conducting, market research activities to identify targeted populations and the go-to-market marketing plan. Negotiates with vendors and contractors to coordinate costs and performance metrics. Utilizes analytics to understand performance of various marketing channels to drive spend optimization. Develops competitive analysis/market intelligence reports. Oversees the production of printed promotional materials including catalogs, brochures, flyers, and program and media guides. Develops advertising campaigns for various media; may design layouts and prepare copy. Provides support for promotional special events such as tradeshows, business and industry conferences, and other business development events. Develops and measures key metrics around the business including cost of acquisition and conversion rates.
Develops, in conjunction with finance, annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the unit. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. May oversee the management and administration of specialized databases. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned or required. Minimum Job Requirements: Master’s degree or its equivalent. MBA or Master’s in Marketing preferred. Minimum 12 years of experience in a related field, including several years in a senior level management position.

Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods. Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. Knowledge of advertising principles, strategies and techniques. Ability to create, compose and edit written materials. Employee development and performance management skills. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events. Knowledge of advertising requirements pertaining to a range of media. Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures. Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies (e.g., IT, Finance, Admissions) in a diverse community. Proficient in Microsoft Office, customer relationship management and marketing automation applications. Knowledge of SalesForce is also helpful. Program Specific Requirements
