Review: Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission
Steve’s breakdown: And so starts the Wednesday international account review fest. This one is for a great cause with a great history of great advertising.
GEELONG, Australia: Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission has today set the ball rolling on a new tender for advertising services.
The pitch is set to test a 24-year client-agency relationship, with Grey Melbourne put on notice for the account it has held since 1989.
The competitive pitch kicks off with the expression of interest period, which opens today and will run through until 2pm on July 18.
The “formal and rigorous process” will also include a request for tender stage, according to new TAC marketer Simon Strahan, who expects the process to be completed towards the end of the year.
“The process will be subject to the highest levels of governance and oversight, with Pitcher Partners appointed as probity advisers,” Strahan, senior marketing manager TAC, said.
“Changing behaviour is a key component in reducing road trauma in Victoria. This is an opportunity for agencies to enter into a competitive pitch for the TAC advertising and marketing campaign business.”
The TAC has been behind emotionally charged campaigns such as ‘Pictures of You’ (below), more shocking spots including ’10km less’ (second video below), and the famous “if you drink then drive you’re a bloody idiot”.
