University of Queensland launches creative account review

Steve’s breakdown: There an RFP and the account includes above-the-line and below-the-line elements. The budget is $1.1 Australian.

BRISBANE, Australia: The University of Queensland has launched a pitch for its creative advertising account, currently held by Publicis Mojo Brisbane.

The University has opened a tender requesting proposals from interested agencies, and it will then invite shortlisted agencies to present at the end of September.

The scope of the account includes creative, above-the-line and below-the-line elements, and the appointed agency will work with MediaCom Brisbane, which continues to hold the Queensland State Government media buying business.

The tender is open nationally, with Publicis Mojo’s contract with the University to expire at the end of 2011.

Shannon Holborn, marketing manager at the University of Queensland, said the institution could potentially appoint more than one agency.

Holborn also added that she was confident Publicis Mojo would pitch to retain the account.

The University is expected to make a decision on the review by early October.

UQ’s estimated main media spend for the 12 months to June was $1.1m, according to Nielsen.
