Chance to get in the Airline biz
Luis Barros is the CEO of Horizon and would probably appreciate a hearty congratulations. FYI: He used to be a SVP over at Starbase.
DALLAS, TX: Business aircraft brokerage firm Horizon Air Group has acquired Addison, Texas-based World Class Jet (dba Starbase Jet), including its Part 135 charter certificate that will be rebranded Horizon Jet Management. The acquisition allows Horizon to immediately offer aircraft charter services and FAA-licensed aircraft operation, in addition to its existing aircraft sales and charter broker services.
According to Dallas-based Horizon, the Part 135 operation is Argus Platinum rated and has worldwide operating authority. The acquisition makes it one of the largest air charter companies in the South Central U.S., said Horizon Air.
“In a time when people feel like they only have two choices: to either stick with the classic charter model or buy into the trendy memberships programs that have been popular lately, it’s important to us to really forge ahead with an alternative that combines the best of both worlds,” said Horizon Air Group CEO Luis Barros. “We’ve advanced the technology and approach of the classic models along with bringing more of a practical and aviation-based offering to the membership app crowd.”
