Fabergé appoints new global marketing director

Steve’s breakdown: In a nutshell, or should we say eggshell, Pia Tonna will now oversee global brand strategy, marketing, PR, advertising and product placement for Faberge.

This is a great opportunity for any agency that wants a small global account. And yes, they speak English.

GENEVA, Switzerland: Fabergé has announced the appointment of Pia Tonna as director of marketing and communications with immediate effect.

Tonna will oversee brand strategy, corporate communications, global PR and product launch strategy for Fabergé’s high and fine jewellery collections.

She will also head up the brand’s influencer seeding and celebrity product placement programmes and will control Fabergé’s retail marketing strategy, advertising, strategic brand partnerships and digital communications.

Tonna joined emerald and coloured stone specialists Gemfields in July 2012 where she held the position of director of PR and communications. Her move to Fabergé follows Gemfield’s 100% acquisition of the luxury brand, which was finalised earlier this year.

To date Tonna’s career has focused on the luxury goods industry. She has previously held director roles for marketing and communication at Chanel Corporation, Paul Smith and her own company, Piatonna.
