Here we go again: Foxwoods bets on another CMO

Steve’s breakdown: Less than a year ago we predicted the CMO’s days were number when we reported “What Happens Here campaign vet to enter Foxwoods“. Now we have Gary C. DiBartolomeo as the next victim. Might as well make a run for them.

MASHANTUCKET, CT: Foxwoods Resort Casino has named Gary C. DiBartolomeo as its new chief marketing officer.

He replaces Rebecca Carr, who was hired in 2011.

DiBartolomeo’s most recent job was chief operation officer of gaming at Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pa. Other gambling entities he’s worked for include Revel Entertainment, Harrah’s/Caesars Entertainment, Bally’s Resort Casino, and Trump Taj Mahal, all of Atlantic City, N.J.

At Foxwoods, DiBartolomeo’s duties will include oversight of casino services, promotions, special events, player development marketing, customer development, database marketing, ecommerce, and public relations.

“Gary has worked tirelessly in the gaming industry implementing strategic plans to expand market share and increase customer loyalty in the face of increased competition,” Foxwoods President and CEO Scott Butera said in a press release Thursday. “He understands what Foxwoods faces today and in the future. He has the knowledge, experience and drive to lead us toward continued success.”
