Lego’s new CMO & COO
Steve’s breakdown: Coming from Revlon & Coke, we may be seeing a little more excitement from Lego beyond Batman video games. (Not that those aren’t totally cool) She starts January 1st so hold your calls.
You could try sending something over to Revlon congratulating her.
ENFIELD, CT: The Lego Group has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of Julia Goldin as EVP and chief marketing officer and Loren Shuster to the role of EVP and chief commercial officer.
Both new hires come into effect on January 1, 2015. Goldin replaces previous CMO Mads Nipper, who left the company earlier this year.
Along with helping the company achieve its ambitions in globalization and digitalization, Goldin and Shuster will serve on The Lego Group’s management board.
Goldin was most recently global CMO of cosmetics manufacturer Revlon. Before that, she held senior global and regional marketing roles at Coca-Cola. Shuster, meanwhile, hails from Google, where he was a managing director of brand solutions for Asia Pacific.
Lego continues its hot streak. Revenues were up 11% for the first six months of this year to US$2.03 billion, helping Lego to surpass Mattel as the world’s largest toy company in terms of profits in September.
