Meritor to drive global brand management with new hire

Meritor is a global leader in providing innovative drivetrain mobility and braking solutions for original equipment manufacturers of trucks, trailers and specialty vehicles.

TROY, MI: Meritor named John Clark director of Global Brand Management and Marketing Communications. Clark reports directly to Krista Sohm, vice president, Communications.

“We are so pleased to have John join our organization,” Sohm said. “He brings enthusiasm, experience, knowledge and a global perspective that will continue to strengthen Meritor’s brand recognition around the world.”

In this role, Clark is responsible for directing the company’s worldwide branding efforts, as well as the strategic direction and market execution for the company’s Truck, Industrial and Aftermarket & Trailer business segments’ marketing communications activities in North and South America.

Clark joins Meritor after serving as director of communications and brand management at Roush Performance Products in Plymouth, Mich. In that role, he led the company’s communications, social media and lifestyle marketing programs. He joined Roush in 2006. Previously, Clark served as president of RaceFan, Inc. from 2005 to 2006.

From 1988 to 2004, he held marketing communications management positions at several companies including the American Speed Association, Clear Channel Communications and Embee Inc. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
