Coccari, who replaces Jen Guzman as CEO, has more than 30 years of leadership experience, including expertise in consumer and business-to-business marketing, technology and sales. He previously held CEO positions at Futuredontics, NetQuote and Teleflora.
Stella & Chewy’s also named pet food industry executive Mark Sapir as chief marketing officer. Sapir most recently served as vice president of marketing and innovation at Merrick Pet Care, a Texas pet food company that agreed in July to be acquired by Nestlé Purina PetCare Co.
“Gregg and Mark are proven leaders, both with a wide breadth of experience and impressive track records of successfully growing businesses,” said Marie Moody, Stella & Chewy’s founder and chairwoman. “Their in-depth marketing, sales and product development experience will help Stella and Chewy’s build on its leadership position in the premium pet food market.”
Stella & Chewy’s produces premium raw freeze-dried and raw frozen food for dogs and cats at the company’s 164,000-square-foot plant in Oak Creek. Products are sold at more than 6,000 neighborhood pet stores in the U.S. and Canada and online through selected websites.
