REDWOOD CITY, CA: oDesk, the largest and fastest-growing online employment platform, announced today that Jaleh Bisharat has joined the company as vice president of marketing. Bisharat, an internet marketing veteran, will spearhead marketing strategy and operations. She will also oversee product and brand marketing, communications, customer insight, lead generation, and acquisition.
“Jaleh will help us take oDesk to the next level as the world leader in online employment,” said oDesk CEO Gary Swart. “Her broad range of experience fits perfectly with oDesk’s strategic marketing goals. With Jaleh on board, we will increase global awareness of online talent as a mainstream workforce solution.”
Bisharat brings more than twenty years of technology marketing experience to oDesk. She has been a marketing executive at six leading Internet companies, including OpenTable and Amazon.com. She is known for taking companies from their early stages and growing them to recognizable brands. Bisharat has received awards for her work, including an Advertising Age Marketing 100 Award. She has also been named a Power 50 Marketing Executive by Advertising Age. Bisharat earned her AB from Harvard and her MBA from Harvard Business School.
