NORWALK, CT: Diageo PLC DEO, +1.42% said Wednesday that it has appointed Ed Pilkington as chief marketing and innovation officer for Diageo North America and Claudia Schubert as president of U.S. Spirits & Canada.
Mr. Pilkington is currently chief marketing officer for Diageo Europe and Ms. Schubert is currently general manager at Diageo Continental Europe and Russia.
The FTSE 100-listed drinks company said both Mr. Pilkington and Ms. Schubert will transition to the North America market over the summer.
Mr. Pilkington takes the helm of marketing and innovation from James Thompson, who has decided to return to the U.K. for personal reasons and will pursue opportunities outside Diageo, the company said.
Ms. Schubert will succeed Tom Looney, who has decided to retire after 30 years at the company, Diageo said.
Mr. Thompson will remain through July 31 and Mr. Looney will remain to support the transition through Sept. 30, the company said.
“Claudia and Ed have both played critical leadership roles in the recent transformation of our Europe business, and both bring world-class multi-market experience that will help drive their respective functions forward,” Deirdre Mahlan, president of Diageo North America, said.
