And speaking of time & advertising: I used to work for a guy who said in every new business pitch “TV commercials are 27 seconds too long.”
You could imagine how psyched our media director was about this. Plus he wasn’t even saying what he meant which was, you have to grab the viewer within the first 3 seconds of an ad.
Anyway, It took me months to get him to stop saying that. And judging by our winning percentage afterward, it seemed to work.
