In review: County of Middlesex, NJ

New Jersey Shore CoastlineSteve’s breakdown: I know most of you don’t know what Middlesex is . . . (Sounds pretty good to me if people aren’t arguing)  . . . but the county in NJ is in review.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ: The County of Middlesex, New Jersey is seeking an agency to create a marketing program to further support the county’s economic development initiatives.  The chosen entity will work with the County’s  Communication Director and the County Administrator to develop the plan and create an outreach plan  in order to help grow revenue for Middlesex County, the state’s second largest county with more than 825,000 residents.

From increasing jobs, shoppers and tourism, Middlesex County, located in the heart of New Jersey, is strategically located between New York and Philadelphia and is ripe for economic growth. The state’s major roads intersect in Middlesex County, including the New Jersey Turnpike (Interstate 95), the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 287, U.S. Routes 1 and 9 and State Routes 18, 27, 35, 130 and 440. It is serviced by Newark Liberty International Airport, and there is very convenient train travel.

The chosen vendor will evaluate the County’s current image, brand and marketing methods, conduct an assessment of community attitudes and  perceptions and provide recommendations – and to the degree necessary create a new brand for the county.  Messaging should persuade resident and non-residents consumers that Middlesex County is the best place to live, work, raise a family, and start or grow a business.

Deadline for all applicants is December 3.  New Jersey is home to some of America’s leading PR firms, including MWW PR and Coyne PR.
