Major bank seeks CMO for Commercial Banking

NEW YORK, NY: Commercial Banking Chief Marketing Officer
The Commercial Banking Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for directing the marketing, communications for the Commercial Banking line of business. The Chief Marketing Officer reports to the head of Commercial Banking and leads a team of 90+ marketing, communications professionals in multiple U.S. locations. The Chief Marketing Officer interacts directly and frequently with the CEO of Commercial Banking, senior business executives, market managers, and business managers to lead and execute on strategic business, sales and transformation sales initiatives. Additionally, the Chief Marketing Officer provides connectivity to marketing leads in the other lines of business and the central marketing organization. This role requires a decisive leader and solutions-oriented individual who can execute broad, complex projects and partner effectively across lines of businesses.
Marketing – lead the Marketing team to:
  • Work with Commercial Banking CEO and business and functional heads to set marketing strategy and direct the execution through a variety of sales and marketing activities and channels
  • Support client-facing employees across all of their in-person and digital sales process needs
  • Support Commercial Banking’s growing digital presence and continue to vet and roll out new technology and tools to improve activities
  • Design collateral and campaign materials that are consistent with the Chase and J.P. Morgan brands and the needs of the business
  • Lead team to develop compelling content across relevant topics, and promote through multiple digital and offline channels
  • Continue to assess and evaluate marketing activities through analysis and presentations to the business
  • Establish and manage annual budget
  • Oversee distribution and management of sponsorship assets owned by the business (e.g., tickets to entertainment venues) and by the firm (e.g., U.S. Open)
Internal Communications – lead the Internal Communications team to –
  • Provide executive level communications support for CEO
  • Develop communication plans for the business and key senior level executives
  • Provide internal communications support for strategic, cross CB initiatives
  • Manage internal communications channels and improve outreach to employees
  • Coordinate with corporate communications, Media Relations and sub-LOB communications teams
  • Direct, coach and develop large team of employees
  • Lead and participate in Commercial Banking and cross- LOB strategic projects
  • Engage in frequent and consistent communication with the business leaders
  • Cross-LOB coordination and partnership and participation in firm-wide initiatives
  • 10+ years of previous marketing experience – preferably in B2B and /or financial services space
  • Strategic thinker who understands and supports the goals and direction of the firm
  • Demonstrated understanding of the business and market dynamics including financial performance, key objectives/challenges and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the Commercial Banking’s business model, products, and customers
  • Proven leadership, people management, execution and influencing skills
  • Prior experience managing or influencing large, multi-disciplinary groups in multiple locations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong time management, organizational, planning and follow-up skills; ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and be proactive in a fast-paced environment, while remaining calm under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and partnership skills
