Steal this account: Quaker Steak & Lube
Steve’s breakdown: We don’t like to pick on folks but sometimes an account just needs to be stolen. Below is a story about the company opening yet another location.
SHARON, PA: The award-winning casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube, known for its Best Wings USA and more than 20 sauces, continues its Texas takeover with the grand opening of its newest restaurant in Plano, Texas. The restaurant, located at SH 121 at Parkwood, will open to the public January 24.
The Plano restaurant has created close to 200 jobs for the area and is the third Quaker Steak & Lube location to open in Texas. The new Lube encompasses an 8,000 square-foot design while accommodating seating for more than 360 people including a 1,000 square-foot brickyard patio, two full-service bars, and more than 34 flat screen TVs.
In June 2012, the company launched its Texas invasion and announced plans to open 10 new restaurants throughout the area, two of which are currently open in Carrollton and Waco.
“As a former Mayor of Plano, I am thrilled to bring Quaker Steak & Lube into this great city,” says John Longstreet, president and chief executive officer, Quaker Steak & Lube. “We are also ecstatic to announce a partnership with the Plano Independent School District Educational Foundation; during the week of February 4 to 10 we will be donating 10 percent of our proceeds to benefit the Plano ISD and invite the local community to dine at The Lube and support this wonderful cause.”
The Plano Independent School District (ISD) serves 55,302 students in 71 schools located in approximately 100 square miles of southwest Collin County. The Plano ISD is committed to providing an excellent education for all students. Graduates of the Plano ISD Educational Foundation are empowered to adapt to new learning opportunities throughout their lives, to be both creative and disciplined in their thinking, and to collaborate with and contribute to the global community.
“We are honored to partner with the new Plano Lube,” says Carlos Sastoque, executive director, Plano ISD Educational Foundation. “Our foundation is grateful that Quaker Steak & Lube supports our programs and students, and we are excited for the upcoming grand opening festivities!”
