Marketing account to stop auto theft in Texas

The goal is to provide an integrated means to prevent, deter and reduce automobile thefts and burglaries. The RFP is due August 22, 2011.

AUSTIN, TX: The Texas Automobile Burglary Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA) was established by the Texas Legislature to create a statewide effort to reduce auto burglary and theft. The ABTPA is charged with assessing the automobile burglary, automobile theft, and economic automobile theft (burglary or theft committed for financial gain) problems in Texas and analyzing methods and providing financial support to combat those problems. Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is seeking a qualified vendor to partner with ABTPA and TxDMV in meeting the following objectives: (1) Reduction of auto theft, (2) Reduction of auto burglary (3) Increase public awareness and (4) Prevention thru various public platforms. The goal is to provide an integrated means to prevent, deter and reduce automobile thefts and burglaries. ABTPA educates automobile owners in auto burglary and theft prevention procedures and develops public information and education programs on auto crime prevention measures. The outreach projects shall promote and educate automobile owners on the following: (1) how to protect their vehicles, (2) their personal roles and responsibilities and (3) encourage participation in TxDMV auto burglary and theft prevention initiatives and services. The ABTPA functions as the lead organization in a statewide network of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, insurance industry representatives, local tax assessor-collectors, community organizations and concerned citizen groups.
