New CMO & more at RadioShack
FORT WORTH, TX: RadioShack added two professionals to its senior management team Thursday, including a chief marketing officer and an executive to oversee store concepts who has already been working on a new prototype.
Jennifer Warren was named senior vice president and chief marketing officer, and Michael DeFazio was named senior vice president for store concepts.
Warren will lead RadioShack’s marketing, including brand strategy, advertising, corporate communications, social media and online customer experience, the company said.
She joins the Fort Worth-based consumer electronics chain from marketing agency Razorfish in Austin. RadioShack said she has experience developing strategy and building top-tier brands in the retail and mobile categories, including for clients such as Samsung, Wal-Mart, Marshalls, Zales, World Market, Land Rover and Dell.
She has also worked at agencies GSD&M and T3.
CEO Joe Magnacca, who joined RadioShack in February, said Warren arrives “at an exciting and critical time in RadioShack’s history, as we set the stage for our stores’ and the brand’s evolution and growth.”
DeFazio joins RadioShack from Walgreens, where he worked with Magnacca. He will be responsible for creating a new shopping experience for customers. Magnacca said the company will unveil a new store prototype within months.
“I have worked with Mike since 2008 and know that he has a unique ability to reinvent the shopping experience from the outside in,” Magnacca said.
DeFazio has more than 36 years of retail experience, including 30 in store operations and merchandising.
At Walgreens, he established the Walgreens Well Experience store and all flagship stores for the company.
