Conversa Health signs up Kaiser CMO
Steve’s breakdown: Anna-Lisa Silvestre, the new CMO, was the lead on the award winning www.kp.org portal for Kaiser Permanente. If that’s your bag, go forth.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Conversa Health, which helps physicians manage their relationships with patients through its digital care platform, today named Anna-Lisa Silvestre as Chief Marketing Officer. Silvestre brings over 30 years of experience in health care, with 20 years focused on digital health services. As vice president of online services at Kaiser Permanente, she spearheaded development and user adoption of the award-winning www.kp.org portal, which connects over 4 million members with their physicians and medical records, and provides them with the ability to manage their family’s health care.
At Conversa, Silvestre’s focus will be creating a consumer experience that supports patients’ becoming more involved in their care, leading to stronger doctor-patient relationships and better health. Silvestre will oversee the use of insights from Conversa’s analysis of patient-generated data to continually refine digital care protocols. Silvestre’s other responsibilities include brand and marketing communications, market analytics and voice of the user research. She will report to Conversa Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder West Shell III.
“With her extensive experience and proven skill in the digital health care space, Anna-Lisa Silvestre is a top-flight addition to our accomplished leadership team,” Shell said. “She is well known as a leading innovator in consumer health and sought-after authority in this field. Anna-Lisa is already a member of our distinguished advisory board, and we are delighted to have her with us full time.”
“I’m excited to be part of a company that is focused on fixing the problem of disconnected communications between doctors and patients through wise use of technology,” Silvestre said. “Through ‘digital checkups,’ our solution will make it much easier for doctors to monitor patient progress. Everyone benefits when a patient’s health experience becomes part of the conversation.”
Before joining Conversa, Silvestre was president of Oakland, Calif.-based Carbella and Associates, where she served as an advisor and consultant to organizations interested in creating compelling digital offerings for individuals and groups.
In addition to leading efforts to drive Kaiser Permanente’s user base to over 4 million users, Silvestre oversaw product development, integration with physician workflow in the electronic health record, and connectivity with key systems to provide access to online medical records, self-service offerings and key transactions (refill, appointments, e-mail) for patients. She also oversaw digital offerings for brokers, employer customers and employees. Silvestre laid the groundwork for www.kp.org by leading research and development to test new models of communication between patients, their care team and patient-patient support groups.
Silvestre is an internationally known keynote speaker on the topics of consumer health engagement and developing and managing patient portals. She has a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Sociology from the University of Oregon.
